Giftware: Remarketing

We were approached by an upscale giftware company selling product to Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, among other high end stores, who had decided to close their business.

Having over 65,000 individual pieces comprising giftware, glassware, desk accessories and accent furniture (warehoused on the East Coast) our challenge was to find a buyer who would not just offer 20% on the wholesale dollar; which is fast becoming standard.

Through our relationship with a company specializing in all aspects of retail liquidation, we learned that the Fortunoff group of Stores were closing and looking to boost stock levels with appropriate merchandise to add to revenues that could be generated from their existing inventory.

As a result, we were able to sell the entire inventory at a price allowing the company to fully recover their cost of goods.
